How To Add a VFS LinkedIn Photo Frame

There are certainly more professional ways of applying an overlay to your profile photo.  However, if you want a quick, relatively simple method, here's how you can do it.

1. Get your current profile picture that you want to add the frame to

If you don't have your original profile photo to hand, download it from LinkedIn.

Right-click on the photo and select "Save Image As..."

Note: In this screenshot, we already have a frame applied.

2. Edit the image

Find a photo editing software tool you're comfortable with.  At the time of writing, we used https://pixlr.com/x/

If using this tool, click on Open Image and select your profile picture.

Then, add a new layer by clicking on the + button in the top right corner of the editor window.

When prompted, select Image type and choose the frame image you previously downloaded from this VFS Resources website.

You should then see something like this.  Note that we had a frame on our original picture and we have applied a new frame on top.

Click on the SAVE button and choose these options (these are the default settings at the time of writing this).

Then click SAVE AS and choose where you want to save this image file.

There is no need to make an account, your file will have been downloaded into the folder you selected previously.

3. Upload your newly framed profile image to your LinkedIn account

Navigate to the profile photo edit feature if you don't still have it open from step 1.

Click on Add Photo followed by Upload Photo.

You will then be presented with the Edit Photo screen where you can make any adjustments you require.  The VFS Downloadable frames have been designed so that no adjustments are necessary.

Click on Save Photo and that's it, you've added/changed a frame on your profile picture.

Note that you may need to refresh your page to see the change as LinkedIn doesn't seem to automatically refresh the picture.
