The Personal Agility Programme
The Personal Agility Programme
Some years ago, we developed an experiential training & development programme that focussed on building the knowledge and practising vital behaviours that enabled anyone to help their team become a high performing team. Exploring trust, with the aim of being able to consciously increase it, was a key topic.
Below are two short videos (less than 3 minutes each) of our founder Scott Potter talking about trust being one of the foundations of High Performing Teams. They are extracts from a longer talk about the Personal Agility Programme that he devised and executed during 2014 and 2015 at News UK, based on his previous work at Xerox.
In this extract Scott summarises how Personal Agility needs to support the growth of trust within a team if they are to flourish, covering:
The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team
Trust is the foundation
Artificial Harmony - without trust, constructive conflict can't happen
The relationship between Trust - Communication - Performance
Different levels of trust & rapport
the need for vulnerability & risk-taking
Understanding Tuckman's theory of Group Development in this context
In this extract Scott summarises how the Personal Agility Programme teaches about the relationship between Trust & Feedback, and how to give and receive feedback to increase team performance. It specifically covers:
People are different, understand how they may give or receive feedback differently to prevent trust being eroded
What is trust? - The Trust Equation
Giving effective feedback
Coaching skills to build trust
